Every employee of The Jane is pushed daily to give the best of themselves. Guest service is the key performance indicator for Nick and his team! From the moment they enter until they leave, each guest is immersed in a unique setting and influenced by the food, the drinks, the music, the interior. In short, we strive to give each guest an experience they won't soon forget.

With about 40 employees, The Jane operates with a business structure that requires overall organization and stability. This isn't always obvious, specially since we require the absolute best from our whole team. A high level of service and an intense work pace are essential to reach our general objectives and push The Jane to the next level.

FRONT OF HOUSE

CHEF DE RANG

To provide a unique experience to our guests at The Jane, a Front-of-House team of 14 passionate friends takes care of a professional, yet playful and dynamic service every day. We are looking for new team players to strengthen our first class team and uphold our high level service and experience. At The Jane Antwerp, we offer the opportunity to put your experience to use and share it with others. Because of the size of our team you get the opportunity to choose for an all-round function or to focus on a certain aspect within the restaurant. You will be given responsibility for your own section and together with your team members you'll ensure that the service runs smoothly.

Your profile:

  • An extremely well-groomed appearance
  • By nature you are a guest oriented person that guarantees quality and service of the highest level
  • With some experience in a similar function
  • Training in restaurant management, hotel reception, or similar is a big plus.
  • You are fluent in Dutch and have a good knowledge of English — any other language is an asset when dealing with our international guests

BARTENDER

Are you skilled in making cocktails and mocktails? Do you want to develop your skills in a gastronomic setting? Then you're the bartender we're looking for!

You are responsible for the development and preparation of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Of course these drinks are paired with the dishes of our chefs. You have both knowledge of the classics and are interest in developing new drinks, using various techniques.

Your profile:

  • An extremely well-groomed appearance

KITCHEN

Are you the employee who'll join Nick's team?

CHEF DE PARTIE

As chef de partie, you are responsible for your own partie (hot or cold side) in the kitchen. You have a leadership position, but are also part of the overall team. You will be involved in the preparation of dishes on a daily basis. If you are ready for it, Nick and his chefs are always open to creative input. Together, you can make sure you have the most complete experience possible. During your service in the kitchen, you will be responsible for the work in your partie and follow the guidelines of the chef.

Your responsibilities:

  • Work closely with colleagues in the kitchen and front of house
  • Preparing dishes for lunch and dinner
  • Mise en place
  • Managing and cleaning the kitchen equipment
  • Observing safety and HACCP in the kitchen

PASTRY CHEF

Will The Jane's next dessert creation be yours?

Your Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with Nick Bril, creating and developing of the pastry department.
  • Provide and prepare desserts, pastries, ice cream, cakes, mignardises,... for lunch and dinner
  • Mise en place
  • Managing and cleaning the kitchen equipment
  • Compliance with safety and HACCP in the kitchen
  • Working closely with colleagues in the kitchen and dining room
  • Continuously innovate and strive for the perfect service for the guests

PASTRY COMMIS

The pastry commis assists the pastry chef in leading and managing all culinary activities within the pastry department, meeting set standards for quality, hygiene, productivity and guest satisfaction.

  • Work closely with colleagues in the kitchen and front of house, primarily with the pastry chef
  • Taking care and preparation of desserts and pastry for lunch and dinner

COMMIS CHEF DE RANG

You will assist the chefs de rang in the performance of their duties. Supporting the team and providing extra service to guests.

Your profile:

  • Recently graduated or already a first work experience
  • An extremely well-groomed appearance
  • You are by nature a guest-oriented person and guarantee quality and service of the highest level
  • You speak Dutch and/or English. Each additional language is obviously an asset with regard to our international guests
  • You are a team player, who is polyvalent and strives for a collegial team atmosphere
  • Organizational skills, order, neatness, accuracy and guest-oriented thinking
  • The ability to work independently, punctuality and a positive mindset are very important

 

HOST/ESS

Jouw verantwoordelijkheden:

Je neemt de honneurs waar aan het onthaal van het restaurant. Als gastheer/-vrouw zorg je voor een eerste warm contact met de restaurantgasten, je maakt hen wegwijs en zorgt voor een professioneel aanspreekpunt tijdens hun bezoek. Jij bent dé belangrijkste contactpersoon, aangezien je de eerste én laatste indruk nalaat bij onze gasten. Een perfecte hygiëne van de ontvangstruimte, de juiste sfeer d.m.v. kaarsen, muziek, temperatuur, ... zijn jouw verantwoordelijkheid.

Your Responsibilities:

You will take the honors at the reception of the restaurant. As hostess you'll be responisble for the first contact with the restaurant guests, you will show them around and provide a professional yet warm and caring point of contact during their visit. You are the most important contact person, since you're the first and last one to leave an impression on our guests. A perfect hygiene of the reception area, the right atmosphere through candles, music, temperature, ... are your responsibility.

  • Recently graduated or already a first work experience
  • Living in the area
