Trusted soul, daring innovation
For eleven years, The Jane was one with the former chapel in the Groen Kwartier (Green Quarter). This location gave our restaurant an unmistakable signature. But times change. And we are changing with them.
Since 5 October 2025, The Jane has found its home on Het Eilandje. We consciously chose for innovation and continuity. A new chapter.

Het Eilandje is the oldest of Antwerp’s harbour neighbourhoods. In the 19th century, it grew to be the nerve centre of international shipping.
Warehouses and shedding defined the skyline.
Ships from all corners of the globe deposited their cargo.
The docks gave the city a window on the world.
The harbour activities moved north. Het Eilandje stayed behind as a raw, unapologetic neighbourhood, filled with character. And, between the Scheldt River and the Kattendijk Dock: the monumental Montevideo site.
Several tonnes of exotic goods once passed through the warehouses. Today, the storage places have carefully been redeveloped into the Montevideo Residence: an exciting crossroads of industrial heritage and modern luxury and architecture. Robust structures remind us of the past. Innovative buildings and a cosmopolitan sparkle encourage looking ahead.

This is also the site on which The Jane is now located. Not to break with the past, but as a logical evolution. As a bridge to the future. We choose for openness. The water. The city. The energy of an area in transformation. We dare to innovate, but have kept our soul intact.

This place is our window on the world. It’s where we enter into dialogue with the city, with the flow of water and with the continual movement that is unique to Het Eilandje.
It is how we find, in the Montevideo Residence, the authentic foundations that capture our energy and feed our renewal.
Collaborations | No man is an island
Beauty is rarely the work of one pair of hands. It’s the harmony of many.
Our team is essential. As is our broad collective of partners.
Together, we make sure The Jane excels. From decor to dessert.
Nicolas Schuybroek Architects designed our complete interior concept.
It was carefully brought to life by our construction partners Wbuild en MENNOVG..
And further shaped in close collaboration with an impressive group of tradespeople.
Technical requirements and infrastructure are the fundamentals. We entrusted them
to those companies that made the original Jane possible: Bondec, Electro Industrielle, DiscoStore,
AlphaTheta, AlfaPOS Control, Ceyssens-Schrooten bv and Volckaert Interieur Design.
Bossuyt Keukens provided the beating heart of our restaurant.
Aesthetics and experience make a concept breathe and speak. Prado and De Studio-Tim Hooijmans took on the lighting. Javas Lehn Studio and Yellow Submarine were responsible for our brand and visual identity. Studio Nathalie Van der Massen provided the fabrics and curtains. Il Granito: furniture and natural stone. Artists Laurids Gallée, Elias Van Orshaegen, Jeroen van den Bogaert, Aylin Hazel and Jelle Bellefroid Ceramics stimulated the imagination.
Finally, those pearls that give a little bit extra but that make all the difference:
custom glasswork from Zwiesel Glas and Home & Table, an incredible line-up of pans from Falk Culinair,
clothing from Paul Smith, scents from Mon Dada, and images created by Romain Laprade and Pieter D'Hoop.
We selected our partners and brands with the greatest of care. Together we have made The Jane
a place where culinary vision, emotion and perfection come together.
