Executive Sous Chef

To strengthen our kitchen team, we are looking for an Executive Sous Chef. This is not a traditional sous chef position, but a key leadership role within both our kitchen brigade and management team. Someone who helps drive the daily operation while contributing to the continued evolution of our cuisine.

In this role, you will work side by side with Nick Bril. You will be his right hand during service, a mentor to the team and an important sparring partner in the ongoing development of our kitchen.

Your role

As Executive Sous Chef, you will play a leading role within our kitchen.

You are responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the kitchen, ensuring that every service is executed with consistency, precision and calm under pressure. You lead, motivate and coach the entire kitchen brigade while overseeing mise-en-place and service, making adjustments whenever necessary.

You will also share responsibility for purchasing, stock management and the daily operational follow-up of the kitchen.

Working closely with Nick Bril, you will contribute to the development of new dishes, techniques and products, while actively helping shape the continued evolution of our culinary identity.

As part of the management team, you will help drive the future growth of The Jane and contribute to a culture where quality, collaboration and continuous development are at the heart of everything we do.

Who are you?

You have a strong gastronomic background and thrive in an environment where excellence is the standard.

You also recognise yourself in the following:

  • At least five years of experience in Michelin-starred restaurants.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience as a Sous Chef or in a comparable leadership position.
  • Calm and confident under pressure.
  • A natural leader with a passion for coaching and developing people.
  • Highly organised with the ability to maintain oversight without losing attention to detail.
  • Ambitious, loyal and driven to continuously improve both yourself and your team.
  • A genuine interest in modern gastronomy, product development and culinary innovation.

Experience with wood-fire cooking is considered a strong advantage.

A good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Google Drive is also appreciated for daily communication and operational follow-up.
